Cabinetry Limited Warranty

KT Building Supply INC
Limited Warranty
Revision Date: July 1, 2025
Effective Date: This warranty is effective immediately for all cabinetry orders placed on or after July 1, 2025.

KT Building Supply Inc. (“KT”) provides the following limited warranty to the original purchaser (“Purchaser”) of its cabinetry.

1. Scope of Limited Warranty

Cabinet Materials, Workmanship, and Moving Parts:
KT warrants that the material, workmanship, and moving parts of its cabinetry — including hardware such as hinges, drawer slides, and other mechanical components — will be free from defects under normal indoor residential and non-commercial use conditions for a period of five (5) years from the date of original purchase as indicated on the valid proof of purchase.
This warranty applies exclusively to the original Purchaser with valid proof of purchase (original sales receipt with date and item details). This warranty is non-transferable and does not extend to subsequent owners or third parties.
“Normal use conditions” generally entail intended residential/non-commercial use, regular cleaning with appropriate products, and use within reasonable temperature and humidity ranges.
Purchasers are responsible for retaining their proof of purchase. KT does not guarantee the ability to retrieve past invoices, and failure to provide proof of purchase may render a warranty claim ineligible.

Soft-Close Mechanisms:
The soft-close functionality of hinges and drawer slides is warranted to be free from defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. Soft-close performance issues typically manifest within the first year and are considered subject to normal wear thereafter. After the first year, soft-close failure or degradation is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered under this warranty.

Product Design & Specification Disclaimer:
KT reserves the right to modify cabinetry design, construction methods, hardware, finishes, and color offerings at any time and without prior notice. As a result, replacement parts or components may vary in appearance or specifications from the originally purchased product.

Commercial Use Exclusion:
This warranty excludes all industrial, commercial, and business usage. It applies solely to indoor residential use.

Product Registration Requirement:
To maintain warranty eligibility, the correct job site address where the materials are being delivered or installed, along with accurate purchaser contact information, must be provided at the time of sale. Missing or inaccurate information may result in claim delays or warranty ineligibility.

2. KT’s Obligation

In the event that an item is determined by KT, in its sole reasonable discretion, to be defective within the applicable warranty period, KT may either repair or replace the defective component with a product or part of equal or comparable functionality, as determined by KT in its reasonable discretion.
KT’s obligation is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part only. KT is not responsible for replacing entire cabinet sets, door styles, or finishes due to a single component defect or the unavailability of exact matches. Replacements may vary in color, grain, or finish due to aging and material differences.
Replacement components may differ in appearance, design, or finish from the original parts and are subject to availability, which may result in extended lead times. KT reserves the right to require the return of the defective item, at the Purchaser’s expense, prior to issuing any replacement.
The warranty period is not renewed or extended upon replacement or repair. Any replacement part or repaired component will be warranted only for the remainder of the original warranty period.
KT is not responsible for issues caused by unlevel subfloors, out-of-plumb walls, framing irregularities, or other jobsite conditions that interfere with cabinet installation. These conditions must be corrected by the client or their contractor prior to installation.

3. Excluded Costs

This warranty strictly covers the repair or replacement of defective hardware or materials as expressly provided herein. The original Purchaser is solely responsible for all other costs related to the warranty claim and replacement process, including but not limited to:

  • Removal of the defective product

  • Reinstallation of the replacement component

  • Any additional materials needed to complete the installation

  • Labor charges or contractor fees

  • Costs resulting from project delays or indirect damages

  • Any costs incurred due to the unavailability of exact matching replacement components

4. Exclusions & Natural Characteristics

KT cabinetry is built using high-quality wood materials and finishes. However, due to the inherent properties of wood, certain characteristics or issues are not covered under this warranty.

Natural Movement & Hairline Cracking:
Minor cracking that may appear around joints in painted face frames, doors, or other painted components is considered a normal and expected characteristic of real wood. Wood naturally expands and contracts in response to changes in humidity and temperature.
Warping of cabinet doors measuring up to ¼ inch and warping of moldings or panels up to 2 inches are considered acceptable within industry standards and are not classified as manufacturing defects.
KT will assess claims of excessive or structurally compromising cracking on a case-by-case basis.

Fading & Aging:
Changes in color, tone, or finish over time are expected and not considered defects.

Color Variations in Stain-Grade Wood:
Natural grain, mineral streaks, and knots are inherent features and not defects.

Installation and Transportation Related Issues:
This warranty does not apply to issues caused by improper handling, storage, or installation.
KT is not liable for damage, warping, or defects resulting from prolonged storage, exposure to fluctuating environmental conditions, or third-party transportation not arranged or provided by KT.

Wear, Moisture, and Environmental Exclusions:
Not covered:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Improper use

  • Water, heat, or chemical damage

  • Environmental exposure

  • Neglect or misuse

  • Failure to address minor surface damage (chips, scratches, etc.) promptly may result in voiding warranty coverage for the affected area.

Third-Party Modifications:
Warranty is void if unapproved repairs or alterations are made.
This includes removal and reinstallation by third parties for remodeling, appliance replacement, or other modifications.

Assembled Cabinet Disclaimer:
Assembly by KT does not guarantee site-specific fit. Purchasers must verify accuracy before installation.

Cosmetic Claim Limitations:
Cosmetic imperfections that are not visible under normal lighting conditions and standard viewing angles (standing position, 3–6 feet away) are not covered under this warranty.
